Blade of the Immortal's first gory anime from 2008 was like a cross of Rurouni Kenshin and Berserk, but manga fans wanted it to be more in line with the latter rather than the former. The 2019 series did a better job of capturing the manga's dark atmosphere, but it still somewhat fell short because it crammed the entire story into 24 episodes. The last chapters bring some closure. The story itself is far from over, but the manga ends in a point that feels like the characters have done enough, that they can rest for now. I started reading this year, even tho i knew Miura had passed. Even tho the future is uncertain, i still enjoyed Berserk and Guts' journey so far.
